NEWS: Tinker Strawberry gin

I have a bottle of the original Tinker Gin as I was an investor in their crowd-funding campaign, and it's absolutely delicious - I'm a definite lover of citrus gins as you might know from my event reviews, and Tinker's Spanish-style flavour profile definitely suits my palate.

The gin was produced by the founders of Gin Festival and they've just announced a new edition, the Tinker Strawberry gin.

It uses Tinker Gin as a base, but has fresh strawberries added to lends a natural sweetness which is balanced by sherbet and elderberry. The perfect serve is with lemonade, garnished with strawberries and mint.

As expected, the gin will initially only be available to order through Gin Festival (here), but it will form part of their "Gin Festival in a box" range which comprises a bottle of gin, 7 mixers and 2 branded copa glasses.

The tonics included are:

  • Fentimans Premium Indian Tonic Water 200ml
  • Fentimans Naturally Light Tonic Water 200ml
  • Fentimans Rose Lemonade 200ml
  • Franklin Sons Natural Indian Tonic Water 200ml
  • Franklin Sons Natural Light Tonic Water 200ml
  • Distillers Original Tonic 200ml
  • Distillers Dry Tonic 200ml

The copa glasses are also very good quality (I have a pair personally)

The box is priced at £39 which is decent value given that a bottle of Tinker on its own is £35, however there is a £7.99 delivery charge although it should be noted that this is per order so you might want to consider stocking up. Free Delivery is available on orders over £150

The gin is only available to pre-order at the moment through the Gin Festival website with delivery expected in October.

Note - the original Tinker gin is currently part of a promotion deal on Gin Festival (here) where you can get 3 bottles of gin for the price of 2 on a variety of summer gins
